can't send email

I get the following message when trying to send an email from Windows Mail.

Subject 'test message', Account: 'incoming.verizon.net', Server:
'outgoing.verizon.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '250 SIZE 20971520',
Port: 25, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 250, Error Number: 0x800CCC7D

Do you know what needs to be done to correct this?

Go to Tools, Accounts, select that account, Properties, Advanced,
then uncheck the SSL option.
