Can't see Turn off button

I can't see the TURN OFF button on my Task Menu (normally should have Log
off and Turn off button). So every time I want to turn off the computer, I
have to click on LOG OFF first to go back to Welcome Screen, then click Turn
Off from there. It's really irritating! Any advice to return that button back
to task Menu? Thanks heaps.

Hi Trang,

1. Open Registry Editor by typing Regedit.exe in the Start, Run dialog.

2. Navigate to the following locations:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
-and-
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

3. In the right-pane, double-click the value NoClose and set it to 0.

4. Restart Windows for the changes to take effect.

Hi,

Been messing with TweakUI? The option to remove logoff is in the explorer
section. Also, on a Pro system there is a group policy setting that will
cause this.

Hi,
Thanks for your help. I did followed the steps, however, I got stuck at :
_ I don't have HKCU. It was HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
_ Then I got until ...\CurrentVersion\Policies. In POLICIES, I only have
NonEnum, Ratings, and System. And in none of them has the value NoCLose.
What should I do?
Anyway, tahnks a lot for your help.

Hi Rick,
I've never known about TweakUI or amy like that. And what group policy you
mention about? Where can I find it?
Thanks for you help.

Trang,

HKCU refers to HKEY_CURRENT_USER
HKLM refers to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

Trang,

Again, have you checked under HKEY_CURRENT_USER hive?

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
