Can't see Shared XP printers on a Win98 machine

I'm trying to network a single Win98 machine into a WinXP
Professional Network. I can see the computers and access
the hard drives, but the majority of printers are not
available to the Win98 machine. I've been able to connect
the printers to the Win98 machine directly & print, but I
just cann't get them to be "seen" on the Win98 machine. Is
it possible? I've checked the share tab & all printers are
easily seen via any WinXP machine.

Can the 98 PC 'see' the files and folders on the XP PC(s)?

Can you connect them using

\\XPPC\Printer

where XPPC is the Name of the XP PC and Printer is the Shared Name of the
Printer?

Wayne,

Did you find a fix? I have exactly the same problem and cant find a
solution except pull my hair out! My other XP Pro machine can see the shared
printer and print to it. But my other pc that runs '98, although it can see
the XP machines, cant see the shared printer.

What did you do in the end please?

Regards,

Nick
