Hi,
I've checked the file attributes for the files I tried to save - the read-only box is not checked. This applies for all files - word, rtf, excel, access.
the error message when I try to save: This folder is read-only. That's when I discovered that every folder and file in the My Documents folder is Read-only. In the properties box of the folders, the the Read-only box is greyed and ticked.
I untick, apply and ok. check the files. Same as before. Go back check the folder and it's back to Read-only. No matter how many times I uncheck it. I've turned off the computer, done a virus scan and read lots of useless articles on the support site.
I think I can date this change in folder status to when I used the Network set-up wizard a couple of days ago. The set-up didn't complete. Since then I haven't been able to save to a CD or disc.
I was trying to network to my old computer which has windows 2000 on it. The problem is that XP is not setup to automatically do this and I can't find any info on how to fix this problem.
Please help me. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I use Windows XP and Office 2000
Thank you
Mema
