can't save pic as JPG in IE

I can't save pictures as JPGs in IE 6 sometimes. (still
can save them as BMPs) However, sometimes I can. It
seems after I have followed a link or two it stops
permitting me to save JPGs. Seems to affect all open
windows, but closing them all sets it back to permit JPGs.

I checked the Knowledge Base, but I'm not too familiar
with it and all of the relevant articles I came across
addressed this problem with AOL as your ISP, which I do
not have.

The usual fix is to clear your cache.
IE-Tools-Internet Options-Delete Files (in the TIF section)

That seems to work about 98% of the time but if it doesn't, close IE
and reopen and do it again. Also it has been reported that clear
cookies helps, but ensure you save any that you need.

Hi.

I've had the same problem in the past, with a twist: each time I clear the
cache, the program freezes. (that is, "not responding"). At the same time,
it does seem to delete the files in the cache, and I am able to save
pictures as jpegs again.

Most recently, the fix is not working. I clear the cache (with the usual
"not responding" message), but IE still only allows pics to be saved a .bmp.

Any ideas?

Hi,
Delete the Temporary Internet Files folder. Allow a new one to be created.
Also reset the TIF folder size to about 50-60 MB.
