Can't print from a Hewlett Packard printer

Stephen

I recently tried installing an old Hewlett Packard DeskJet
610CL printer on Windows XP. It is installed and set as my
default printer but after I select print and the printer
loads the paper, the yellow light above the power light
keeps flashing indicating a problem. I don't know what it
is though . There is paper and new ink and I have tried
restarting and reinstalling but nothing works. Can someone
help me please? Thank you in advance.

You might try defining the printer on the Windows XP computer as an HP
DeskJet 550C (i.e. use the 550C driver) and see if that works.
