Can't perform Complete PC Back up

I was trying to do a complete PC Back up, to get rid of Vista and get my PC
back to its original state. But at startup when I repeatedly press F8, the
advanced boot options menu doesn't come up. It goes straight to the Vista.
What should I do to correct it?

what was on your system in its "original state"????
Do you have a copy of the OS that was originally on the machine??
Enter Vista normally and backup all of the personal files......use a
seperate backup program not Vista's or just copy and paste to a CD
Start computer with your XP CD in place...CD needs to be 1st boot device in
BIOS
Install XP formatting the drive you are installing to ...this will wipe
Vista
Then install your mobo drivers....video drivers...sound drivers...etc
drivers

If your system came with a pre-installed version of XP without a CD and
Vista was an Upgrade you will need to read your manual on how to perform a
recovery from the hidden recovery partition on the HD.....which normally
involves pushing an F??? key
