Can't open two attachements

Martin

Hi,

if i open two attachements (one after the ofter), windows mail shuts down
while opening the second attachement.
If i open one attachement, close windows mail, start windows mail again and
open the next attachement, everything is fine.

Does somebody know what to do?

I am having the same problem as Martin opening jpeg attachments. Windows mail
opens the first one then shuts down when trying to open the second. I have
uninstalled a picture viewer I was using, but still having the problem using
windows photo viewer.
I wonder if there has been an windows update recently as I dont recall
having this problem in the past?

Which antivirus are you running? Some of them are not fully compatible
with Windows Mail.

I'm using Norton Internet Security and everything was working well for months
and suddenly (some days ago) the problem began.

Norton antivirus is among the top three troublemakers for Windows Mail.
Symptoms often don't surface until several months have gone by.
The only way you can prove or disprove that Norton is the culprit is to
uninstall it, followed by using their debris removal tool:

Instead of uninstalling your antivirus, another option is to upgrade to
Windows Live Mail, which is more resistant to the adverse effects of overly
intrusive antivirus products: http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview

In any case you must disable antivirus email scanning, for the reason
explained here:

Interesting, I am using Norton also. Do you know if there are any guarantees
Windows Live Mail will work ok with Norton as I assume there will be a cost
involved?

I had the same problem. Drove me nuts. The problem is a Norton update was
corrupted. Uninstall Norton and reinstall. End of problem.... Franz
