Can't open the .asd file

T

Torned

I cannot open the file that I managed to find from AutoRecovery because it is
password protected. However, I have not typed in any password for that. How
do I find that password?

The ASD file may not be a copy of your document and the fact that you are
being asked for a password for a recovery file for a document that wasn't
password protected suggests that it is being misread. ASD files can only be
reliably read by Word's crash recovery and if that hasn't activated the
probability is that you will gain nothing from this file. Valid unused ASD
files should be cleared when Word is closed.
