Can't open jpg files saved on desktop

All of the sudden I can't open any pictures with the jpg extension saved on
my desktop. Same files saved on another folder can be opened without a
problem. What could be wrong? This started happening after I did the latest
windows updates.

Fixed it!!! One shortcut I had on my desktop was causing the problem. I
deleted it and pictures open fine again with Windows Photo Viewer
