Can't open Installed Windows Live messenger

I installed Windows live messenger, when the installation finished it doesn't open i get the following message: (I have it on desktop too)



The application failed to initialize properly (oxc0000005) click on OK to terminate the application.



I have uninstalled and re-installed with no changes. I also can't install back version 7/8 of messenger



I use windows XP sony vaio.



Please help. Thanks
