can't open frontpage 2003 pages

I just got a brand new 64-bit Gateway computer for Mother's Day-that's the
nice part:) The not-so-nice part is that I installed FrontPage 2003 on it
and imported a couple of sites I built previously. I imported the sites and
opened one locally. I can see all the pages in the folder list, but when I
double-click on any file it won't open. I see a tab at the top that says "Web
Site" but nothing else. I can see all the navigation links, etc. but I can't
get the page to open in code/design view. Does anyone know if there is a
problem with Microsoft FrontPage and 64-bit machines?

How did you "Import" the webs??

Copy to from a CD? If so you will need to remove the "Read only" attributes from every file in the
web.

Try "Publishing" the webs from the server to your new computer.

Hi Steve,

Sorry, I just got back on this thread! I actually did use the Publish
function from my remote site to my PC. I can see all the files on my hard
drive but I can't open any of them.

Are you using File Menu | Open Site and then entering or browsing to the folder holding the web
content in FP?

I'm not in front of that PC at the moment and am trying to remember. I think
I created the site as a new one locally, invoked the Publish command from
remote to local, and then tried to open any of the web pages on my local
site, which didn't work. I also was not able to open any of the pages on the
remote site.

Thanks to everyone who helped. I'm all set now. I hadn't registered the
software and that prevented me from opening the pages. I just completed the
registration process and can view all pages. Sorry if I wasted anyone's time
:-(
