can't open files after running windows backup

I run windows backup every sat and every mon morning when I get in,
random files on my computer can't be opened because "the file is
currently being used by another program." I know there is no other
program using the stupid files! A reboot fixes the problem (of course,
we are talking about MS f-ing stupid OS here)

Anyone here have similar issues?

Is there a Windows version of lsof? (a program that will list all open
files and what programs have them open)

Task Manager may meet your needs, displayed on
screen by Ctl+Alt+Del: see its second panel.
