Can't open attachments

I am aunable to open or save some attachments on emails. They mostly seem to
be word 97 documents. Any suggestions? When I click to open (or save) the
box indicates it is transferring file information but nothing happens after
that.

Are you saying you can't right-click and save, either? What version of
Outlook and Windows? What type of account?

You didn't indicate any error messages so I'm not sure if this will apply to
you or not but have a look and see if following the instructions does resolve

My mail actually comes through hotmail/Windows Live. I am using Vista and
Office 2007. This has been happening for a while and I ahve finally gotten
fed up with it.

Can you drag the attachment to the desktop? Can you drag the message from
the Hotmail Inbox to a local folder? If this were happening to me, I'd try
deleting the Hotmail/Live account and readding it.
