Can't log onto MSN Messenger - Please Help

V

Vittorio

When I try to log onto MSN Messenger I get the following message:

We were unable to sign you in to .NET Messenger Service, possibly because of
a problem with the service or with your Internet connection. Please make
sure that you are connected to the Internet. 0x80004005
(the mesage has been translated from Italian, so it can be slightly
different)

Please note that I have 2 hotmail accounts, and only one of them doesn't
connect, the other works correctly, so I'm sure there are no
connection/firewall problems.

The account that has the problem is active as the mail account works
perfectly both with Outlook Express and via Web and the password is correct.

Is there anyone that has a suggestion?

Thanks in advance for your help,

Vittorio

I have exactly the same problem - Authentication works OK
but when getting directory information (the buddy list)
the server drops the connection (for specific users only
no matter from which computer). It seems that some user
records are messed up inside MS's databases. Does anyone
know what to do in this case? Any help is appreciated.
