msn messenger login problem

I am using dsl with linksys dsl router. I am not able to
login on msn messenger, after many tries I may get lucky
and it logs in. But majority of the time, it will try to
login, then I get a message

"We were unable to sign you in to .NET Messenger Service,
possibly because of a problem with the service or with
your internet connection. Please make sure that you are
connected to the internet."

I use my dialup on the same computer and it logs into msn
perfectly. I am using XP....does anyone know why msn
messenger is doing this...frustrating, and feel like never
using this IM anyone, please help

Your DSL provider probably supplied you a NAT modem. Check with them.
