I'm trying to install Win XP in a new hard drive from the
recovery disk ( Dell system, dimension Pentium IV ) afer
the message " Inspecting your hardware configurations"
the setup starts loading all the necesary files, at the
end, my monitor flashes for one second, then the Dark
blue screen appears and tell me this message:

SESSION5_INITIALIZATION_FILLED
A problem has been detected and windows has been shuting
down to prevent damage in your computer.
Tech info:
STOP: 0X00000071 (0X00000000), (0X00000000),
(0X00000000), (0X00000000).

I have been trying repeat the process since a week ago,
and testing different memory, viedo card, monitor, and 3
differents hardrives, I also updated my BIOS.

Please, any help ???

Perhaps your Dell recovery disk is trying to restore from a hidden
partition. Seeing that you're trying new hard disks - it will not be there
! I've had this problem with Packard Bell machines, you could try ghosting
your original hd onto a new one.

...or installing from scratch if you were supplied with an XP cd-rom by Dell.

Richard,
Thanks for your response, but...can you tell me what
exaqctly you mean with: " ...or installing from scratch
if you were supplied with an XP cd-rom by Dell"

I should have read your post more carefully. Did you get an XP cd-rom in
addition to your "recovery" disk - if so you may want to install afresh
using that. It could be that your Dell recovery procedure doesn't like
discovering a different hard-disk.

....Otherwise this could be a job for Winternals ERD2002...mumble
mumble..SESSION5_INITIALIZATION_FAILED 0x00000071 ...
