I need to install .NET Framework but have been having not been able to. My
Kodak All in One 5300 printer/scanner needs it.
I have tried to install it from my XP disk but get an error message. I have
search google, Micosoft everywhere for a fox, but get confusing info. I
called Kodak, but they refered me to Micosoft for the solution.
When I try to open my Kodak AiO program I get the following error message;
Please set registry Key HKLM\software\microsoft\.net framework\install root
to point to .net framework install location.
Net frameework is not installed on my computer, I cannot get it to install,
I am running XPsp2, Windows 32, Intel 4, 1GB ram.
Can anyone direct me to a solution?

Thank you for your reply.
I went to the link, and followed the instructions for Method 3-"Rename the
Catroot2 folder", and tried to install Net Framework and got the following
error message.
..NET Framework 1.1 setup.ese is not a valid Win32 application.
I then tried Method 1, and got the same error message.
Should I try all of them or is there another.Net Framework that I should
download?

Thank you for your reply.
I went to the link, and did Method 3-"Rename the Catroot2 folder", then
tried to install .Net Framework and got the following message-">NET Framework
1.1 setup.exe is not a valid Win32 application".
I next tried Medhod 1, and got the same error message, should I continue
with the fixes, or is there another version of .NET Framework that I should
download

Hmmm.. I have one question about NET. Framework:

I have NET. Framework 2.0 installed, but i also have version 1.1 and 1.1
hotfix installed. Do i need 1.1 if i have 2.0 in my computer?

Thank you

Yes,different programs that you have or may install require different
versions to work right.

Yes, probably. Some programs need 1.1 and 2.0 will not work with them.
If you have such a program, you need it.

My recommendation is to keep all the .net versions. Uninstalling them
saves a tiny amount of disk space, and even if you don't need one of
them today, you may need it tomorrow.

All,
Thank you por pointing me in the right direction.
I think I found the solution to the problem.
I removed Office 2000 Pro. sp2, and .NET installed with no problem.
Now I have to find a way to not receive the following message when I try to
open some programs.
" The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-Rom or other removable disk
that is not available. Insert the 'Norton AntiVirus 2005' disk.
I have removed Norton's security from my computer, so it must be an imbedded
plugin in Office 2000.
The hunt continues, again thank you.
