Can't install .NET framework on Windows2000 SP2

Dong

Hi experts,

I use Windows2000 SP2 on my pc, I cannot install .NET
framework on my machine successfully. at the end of the
installation, dring "Registering
System.EnterpriseServices.dll", the computer hung, and
msdtc.ext occupied 99%CPU time.

What's the problem and how can I install it?

Thanks in advance,

Dong

Hi Dong,

Interesting problem... Are you trying to install from a guest account? If
so are any registry rights restricted?

I've noticed that Windows 2000 has changed some things at the low level
regarding registry access on SP4.

I'm interested if you can try the sample program on this page on this
machine:
http://thinstall.com/help/microsoft_netframeworklinki.htm (the 6.5MB EXE).

This uses an experimental method of deploying .NET applications where the
..NET framework is not required and it should work if registry access is
restricted. This won't fix your problem, but I would be grateful to have
one more datapoint.

Thanks!

Hi Jonathan,

My problem was temporary solved by rename msdtc.exe file.

Looked at your program, cool!

Thanks,

Dong
