Can't get rid of default WindowsXP screen saver

I have been trying to change my screen saver and the changes won't take. I
go into the screen properties and change the screen saver to the one I want,
I have created my own theme and saved it with the settings I want. The next
time I start my computer the screen saver has reverted back to the WindowsXP
screen saver. All of my other settings remain intact, just the screen saver
doesn't seem to register.

No matter what screensaver you set up, the default XP screensaver
appears if you switch on your computer and leave it on without logging
in. That's not what you are doing, is it?

No, I am logging in. In fact, if I don't log in and let the screen saver
start by itself it is the one I want to use when I am logged in. It's almost
like the screen saver I want has been set to the default.

Check your setting for the screensavers path.

Here are some examples:

Marine Aquarium 2.scr > rename it to > MarineAquarium2.scr

In the registry, screensaver will work correctly if it is listed as so:
c:\windows\system32\marine~1.scr

Screen Savers do not work correctly if listed as so:
""c:\windows\system32\marine aquarium 2.scr""
