Can't find the Safely Remove Hardware Icon

I recently bought a Maxtor external drive and they advise using the Safely
Remove Hardware Icon in Windows XP. I understand it should be on my tool bar
but I can't seem to find it. If anyone can tell me where to find it, it
would be appreciated..

Hi,

Click start/settings/Taskbar and Start Menu, uncheck the option to hide
inactive icons.
