Can't fast forword downloaded video clip!

Hello,

I've downloaded a short video clip that I can't fast forword. It's a .asf
file. Is there any way I can re-encode the file so that I can fast forward
through the file? When I try to load it into Movie Maker 2, I get the
message:

The file D:\My Shared Folder\abc.asf is not indexed and cannot be imported.
