Can't enable script blocking or process execution in MS AntiSpywar

I've had MS AntiSpyware Beta1 installed for some time and noticed today that
both the Process Execution and Script Blocking application agents were
deactivated. Clicking on "Activate checkpoint" did not re-activate them.
I'm wondering why this is. Is it possible that the newly added spyware
detection facilities in Norton Antivirus deactivate these automatically
(presumably in cooperation with Microsoft) or might MS AntiSpyware have been
hacked by a virus or similar?

Hello John,
Try these two solutions:

A) You can repair Windows AntiSpyware using Add or Remove Programs in
Control Panel. Click Microsoft AntiSpyware and click Change. Click Next, and
then click Updªte.

B) Use the Repair Function in the ADD / REMOVE PROGRAM section in the
Control Panel.

Then, try these steps:

1) Open up a command prompt (start -> run -> type in -> command)
2) Type in the following "regsvr32 msvbvm60.dll" (without the quºtes).
3) Close and re-open Windows Defender.

You can go ahead and do both of these--neither has any downside risk--and
see if that does the jºb.

Let us know whether it does, or nºt!

Hi Engel,

Thanks very much for your reply. The solution worked fine and the two
processes are now enabled. Out of interest, would you guess that the problem
was caused by a malware application targetting MS Antispyware or is this
unlikely?

Regards

John
