Can't download certain web pages and ads

Running Windows XP Home with SP2. Long before any SP installs I couldn't
download any Classmates.com pages. The site is not blocked on my IE options
and I have allowed it. This seems to be the only site that is blocked.

Secondly, I seem to have the same issue (will not download frames and ads)
on the MSN home page. The Macromedia Player ad doesn't work on the MSN.com
homepage and on other web sites certain ads will not download. It is as
though the ads have been blocked.

I believe it may have to do with running Lavasoft Ad-aware and now certain
sites or cookies have been permanently blocked. I can get Classmates.com
and the aforementioned ads to download on my son's computer which is
identical to mine.

Check C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc for a file named HOSTS with no
extension. (Not Hosts.sam)
Make sure Windows is set to show hidden files and folders and is NOT set to
hide extensions for known file types.
If HOSTS exists, rename it to HOSTS.OLD
Reboot an try again.

Or, In a Cmd window, enter
ipconfig /flushdns
then clear your TIF also, and re-boot.
