Can't disable firewall

T

Tom

The instructions say: click start>control panel>network
connections. Click Network Tasks. Select the active
connection. So far, so good.

It says click Change Settings of this Connection. I do
so, but nothing happens. I'm supposed to get some tabs,
including an Advanced tab, in which I can disable the
firewall. What's wrong? Thanks.

If this is for an AOL connection, you can't. AOL did not
make their software compatible with this feature of
Windows XP.

The good news is that means the built-in firewall is
already disabled, because you cannot enable it on a AOL
connection.
