Can't delete slider master title PowerPoint 2003

Hi, All:
I need to create a master without a title placeholder in PPT 2003. I can
view the slide master, add a new slide master, and delete the title
placeholder manually. But when I apply the master to a new slide, the title
placeholder reappears as more than a placeholder, instead as a text box with
an outline.

In master view, if I try right-clicking the thumbnail and clicking Master
Layout, all the options are disabled.

What am I missing here?

TIA,
Lisa

This is a PPT quirk. So, instead you'll need to move the title placeholder
off to the side of your master somewhere. Decrease the font size if you want
to make it even more discreet.

Thanks for the quick response! After noodling around with it quite a bit
more, I came to the conclusion that it had to be a buggy thing. It really
helps to know that I'm not the only person experiencing such a problem.
