Can't change IE-6 home page

Internet Explorer v.6 won't let me chage my home page. It goes through all the motions like it's going to let me change the home page, but when I open the next time, home page is right back to what it was before the attempt at changing. I've got up to date virus detection, and everything is clean and green. Any ideas on what is causing the problem?
