Reverts back to what? It may have been hijacked.

I'm sure you have tried to change it exactly this way but thought I'd mention
it anyway just in case you missed a step. Bring up the page you want to be
your home page. In internet options home page click "use current" then click
"apply".

First eliminate any spyware.

CAUTION!!!!! Removing some spyware can damage the Winsock stack and you may

I did try the conventional method of changing the homepage under Tools but
it stays on the page I don't want anymore.
I will try to remove my ad-aware software to see if that works
Thanks
PHIL.

I removed Ad-Aware & it allowed me to change the homepage setting. Thank
My concern is why did it happen & what should I do? I reinstalled Ad-aware,
it seems to work OK.
Thanks

You may have a versdion of Ad-Aware with a "protection" feature. Turning
that off should enable making such changes.

You still haven't answered the question in the first reply you got.

One possibility is that the URL you were seeing was one which
if you had gone to it would have reverted to your preferred Home Page.
Microsoft sites make use of this technique, in which case I find it
simpler just to go where they want to take you instead of fight it.
They make use of a different registry value which apparently
gets precedence. I suppose malware could exploit such a feature
but I'm not aware of any that does.

Unfortunately I can't remember the name of the value and don't have
time to do a search for you now.
