Can't browse to a server

Amir M.

Hi,

All of a sudden I am not able to browse to one of our
servers, using Windows Explorer. When I double-click the
server's share name, I get the following error:
"The server is not configured for transactions."

In the Application Log of this server, there is a DrWatson
Information event ID 4097, reading "The application, ,
generated an application error The error occurred on
09/22/2004 @ 23:44:11.781 The exception generated was
c0000005 at address 00409A84 (<nosymbols>)"

Does anyone know why this has happened?

Thanks

Error - Server not configured for transactions:
=============================
Check for the Trojans variants. Also see if any unwanted SVCHOSTC.EXE
service is not running
It might be W32.SPYBOT.

Hope this helps

I didn't see any SVCHOSTC.EXE process running, but I saw
four SVCHOST.EXE processes running. If it's a Trojan, how
come our Symantec Antivirus, which is up-to-date, didn't
detect it?

Thanks

The server that is having this problem is our VPN server -
an RRAS machine. On our Internet gateway machine (another
RRAS machine), we had gotten Srv errors ID 2012, in the
System Log, reading "The server has encountered a network
error.". Also, Browser warnings ID 8021, reading "The
browser was unable to retrieve a list of servers from the
browser master \\DomainController on the network
\Device\NetBT_Tcpip_{9FD68487-22E6-4927-8C87-
B852AEB8579C}. The data is the error code.".

Do you think these event logs could be related to the
problem we are experiencing?

Thanks
