Can't addi files to WMP11 in Vista Beta 2

I cannot add files to WMP11 in Vista Beta 2. I have tried to add folders for
it to monitor as well as dragging and dropping folders. I have the same
problem with videos and photos. It is like the library in WMP11 doesn't
remember anything. I drag a folder full of photos, and it analyzes all of
them, but then nothing is added. They are all jpg format, all the songs are
mp3 format. Does anybody have any idea why this is happening? This makes
Media center useless as there are no files. I have even tried adding them
through Media center, but they can't find anything. What am I doing wrong?
I have looked for a wmdb file (similar to WMP9 or 10, but I can't seem to
find it). I have Vista installed on a disk other than C. Does that matter?

You tried dragging photos into Media Player 11 or you meant Videos? As far
as I am aware, Photos can only be managed through Pictures folder and Photo
Gallery.

WMP11 has a category for photos in Vista beta 2 which I believe is used for
Media Center. But I have also tried dragging music and videos as well. No
files are added to the library.

You were right. I was able to add photos in the photo gallery, but I still
can't get WMP11 to keep music or video filies in the library. Even when I
double click a song or a video, it will play, but it won't get added to the
library (yes, the option to add the file to the library when playing is
checked).

This is driving me nuts. WMP11 library is empty, and it says it is
searching in the background, and if I want to add files click "here".

However, when I click "here" and manually add folders to monitor, then hit
okay. When I open that window again, my folders are no longer listed in the
monitor window.

Sry for the double post but, I set up Vista on ym Laptop (HP), this is my
desktop (sony) and the lybraries work fine there. I set everything up
identically. Should I reinstall WIndows media player and media center or is
that not possible.

Hi, i have the exact same problem and have also tried everything else here as
well, i have installed vista on a separate partition other than C. i am
currently dual booting alongside Windows XP. I was wondering whether that's
the problem, I can't test it myself because i don't have another computer,
and I need my xp and stuff in it to work.

I'm also having the same problem! I can't add files to my WMP library! Same
with WMC! When I first installed Vista, my music files were added to the
library. But when I tried Media Center, I was unable to add anything to both
the MC and MP libraries.

I've found a solution, actually. I went into Media Center, and under
'Settings', chose 'Media Center Setup'. I guess something went wrong the
first time I set up the Media Center, because after setting up the second
time, I now have my library in both WMP and WMC.
