Can't Access Microsoft Outlook

Hi everyone, I would appreciate if you could shine some light on the
following problem for me.

I have a Windows XP PC with Microsoft Outlook on it. It is configured so
that Outlook opens on start-up. Today, on startup, the outlook icon is
opened on the task-bar, but i cant open it.

I have hit Ctrl-Alt-Del and opened the Task Manager box. When I try to
close it down, it says that the computer is waiting for a response from me.
When I click on the Desktop Icon for Outlook, it tells me that a dialog box
is awaiting my response. "A DIALOG BOX IS OPEN - PLEASE CLOSE IT AND TRY
AGAIN".

However, I cant find the dialog box prompting me to do anything - so
effectively I am frozen out. I have rebooted the PC, but the same problem
occurs. The newest email in my Inbox has been CC'd to another email address,
and the recipient advised that it promts for a language pack installation
before opening it, but this caused them no problems. I assume this is the
dialog box i am being prompted for, but cant find it on screen anywhere.

any advice gratefully received.

Have you tried removing Outlook from your startup folder then starting it
manually once Windows has fully started?

Also, you may want to start Outlook once with the /nopreview command line
switch so Outlook doesn't try to view the first message in your Inbox then
you can open it normally or delete it.

Hi Vince, thanks for your reply.

"Have you tried removing Outlook from your startup folder then starting it
manually once Windows has fully started?" I haven't tried that - how do i
remove the program from my startup folder?

Regards

If you're using WinXP, Click Start, go to All Programs then go to the
StartUp folder. Right click on the Outlook shortcut and choose Delete
