Cannot Visit Japanese/Korean Sites

IE refuses to open Japanese/Korean sites, e.g. http://www.zalman.co.kr/
and http://www.yamaha.co.jp/. No such problem when I visit these sites
with Firefox.

I tried the following:

* Checked the HOSTS file. It's OK.
* Checked for Spyware using Spybot and Adaware.
* Disabled all firewalls.
* Virus scanner is up to date.
* All Security settings for the zones to low.
* Ping the sites: no packets lost.
* Tried several encodings.

Still the sites will not load. IE takes forever to find the sites and no
error message is displayed, just a blank page.
IE version: 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.040919.1003

Does anyone have a clue?

OK, problem solved: these sites are using charset=Shift_JIS, so setting
encoding to User Defined did the trick. However, IE still scr*ws up if
you set it to Japanese (Shift_JIS) or Japanese (Auto-Select)...
