Cannot View Source

Recently I haven't been able to View Source code when right clicking on the
web page. I checked the Registry and found the settings and folders in the
Default HTML Editor to be different than my laptop (which has no problem with
View Source).

Can I go in and safely duplicate these folders (key, value settings) in an
effort to make View Source work again?

If not, what else can I do? I cleared cookies, temp internet files, etc. I
am running Windows XP with Service Pack2.

Thanks,
Mr. Blue Sky

Try clearing out your Temporary Internet files.

Tools / Internet Options / General / Delete Files (button).

This is usually fixed by emptying the Temporary Internet Files.

Also, if you have a shortcut to Notepad on your desktop rename it to Npad.

Some people have reported that Quick View Plus can cause this.

or

Restore Source View

Backup your registry before modifying

Search the registry (Start>run..type in "regedit" without the quotes> press
OK, The search for the DWORD "noviewsource".(without the quotes)

If that exists, delete it or set it to 0.

Don,

Thank you for your reply and the links. I don't have this key (View Source)
in the Registry directory (Local Machine or Current User), although two other
accounts on the computer can View Source just fine and they don't have the
View Source key either.

I thought that the Default HTML Editor key might have something to do with
my problem since these are the keys that are a little different than the
other two accounts (Current Users). For instance, under Default HTML
Editor\shell\edit\, there is a command folder (but just one line item -
"default", rather than "default" and "commnad"), and no ddeexec folder.

Thanks,
Mr. Blue Sky

Sorry, I lost track of this thread. I'm not sure that this is a registry
problem.

Did Frank's suggestions help?
