Cannot uninstall Intellipoint software

I have XP Pro. I must have installed Intellipoint 5.2 over an older
version. My mouse intermittently goes bananas and occasionally I get
an error saying that intellipoint needs to be shut down. I checked and
under Program files there are two folders, Microsoft Intellipoint and
Microsoft Intellipoint 5.2. When I go to add/remove programs, i do not
see "remove" as an option under Intellipoint 5.2, only "change". When
I click on change, it proceeds to remove intellipoint from the list.
When I then check under Program files, the Microsoft Intellipoint
folder is gone, but the 5.2 folder remains. I can do no further
uninstallations. When I then click on point32.exe, it says there is a
problem with the intellipoint installation. If I then delete the 5.2
folder and reinstall the software, I again get the two folders, one
5.2 and one MS Intellipoint. Can anyone help me completely remove the
software? Thanks. Please reply to (e-mail address removed).

Try downloading 5.2 and reinstal the software.Actually intellipoint 5.0
seems to be more stable than 5.2,you can download either from microsoft
downloads, use the scroll bar to locate intellipoint.

Thanks for your reply. I actually had ms on the phone and when they
guided me to the download site, it suggested 4.1 instead of 5.2. When
I manually deleted the remaining file and installed the "new" older
version, eveything worked perfectly.
