Cannot synch .PST and .PAB file

P

Perry Herman

1) I copied my .pst files onto a backup drive
2) I reformated my c drive (logical drive, 1 of 2
partitions)
3) I installed Windows XP Professional
4) I reinstalled all my Office Applications
5) I copied my .pst into the appropriate folder under
Documents/Settings....
6) When I click TO in the Address Select box, I am
allowed only one option, select names from the personal
address book, buried in the Programs/Office...etc...
realm; there are no names in this file

How do I get my contacts in the .pst into the .pab file?

Thank YOu!!! My Wife THanks You! My family Thanks You!

Sincerely, Desparate in Hollywood.

You can righclick the Contacts folder-> Properties-> tab Outlook Address
Book and select the option on that tab. If it isn't selectable you'll need
to add the service by Tools-> Email Accounts-> Add Address Book.

If you are using Outlook 2000 or newer I suggest you disconnect the pab-file
and then import it in your Contacts folder by File-> Import and Export. The
Contact folder has a lot more options than a pab-file as suppor for the
pab-file is only there for backward compatibility.
