I keep getting an error message from Windows Mail:

The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was '(e-mail address removed)'. Subject 'Fw: U19
select sides', Account: 'pop.gmail.com', Server: 'smtp.gmail.com', Protocol:
SMTP, Server Response: '452 4.5.3 Too many recipients c29sm1363884anc', Port:
465, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 452, Error Number: 0x800CCC79

I have to be able to send emails to larges groups of people within my
organization...WHAT AM I MISSING?!

Gmail has a limit in place, probably to restrain spamming.

To how many recipients can I address a single message?
Through the Google Mail web interface, you can send a single message to a
maximum of 500 recipients. If you are using our POP service, you can send to
a maximum of 100 recipients in a single message.

In either case, the email addresses can be distributed among the To:, Cc:
and Bcc: fields.

Note. Some other ISP's/Email providers also set limits.

You have exceeded the 100 recipient count for Gmail.

Doesn't your College have an internal mail server? Like Lotus Notes, or Ms
Exchange?

its a protection against spammers.
trim your mailing list down to smaller numbers.
