cannot see page in IE - Firefox no problem?

I am a member of file-reg.com. I can login with Firefox no problem - but when
I login with Internet Explorer I get a 'page cannot be displayed' error.
I have carried out all the usual problem solving measures such as:
- deleting cookies & temp files
- in advanced enabled all ssl, tls etc
- unchecked 'third party browser extensions - restart
- added the site to the trusted site list
- swtched off firewall (briefly)
- cleared ssl slate in 'certificates' ............... and still I cannot
see the login page in IE! (btw - this is after I login and not the page 'to'
login) but again Firefox works no problem - the page can be seen!

I even tried to reinstall IE but got the message 'you have a newer version
of IE and cannot install'. Looked up the problem and saw that I had to change
some data with regedit - did that - changed the hexadecimal from 1 to 0 -
restarted and tried to reinstall again - and got the same message.

I use XP pro - have all the updates incl SP2 - also the latest version of IE
6

Could it be an activeX problem??... any tips welcome

Cookies disabled?

Cookies - Override checked (on), First and third party accept, always allow
session cookies on.......... so I do not think that this is the problem.

I even tried after deleting cookies & temp files then turning the override
off - still didn't work.

Could it be some that is connected to the file-reg website itself?
Something they probably have not done right on the server? I know they use
windows server 2003!

I use a draytek wireless adsl moden/router - if it was a firewall problem
based here then I would not be able to see the login pages in Firefox! But
still the problem only occurrs in IE!

Any more ideas welcome.
