Cannot run Ecel DLL or not a valid WIndows image error

Windows gives the following error when I attempt to open Excel (Office 2003):

"The application or DLL C:\Program Files\Microsoft Shared\office 11\mso.dll
is not a valid WIndows image. Please check this against your installation
diskette."

I am running Kaspersky Anti-Virus and denied the following event: 6/2/2007
9:47:42 AM C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\EXCEL.EXE Attempt to
load a new or modified module C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft
Shared\OFFICE11\MSO.DLL into process.

Copy the original mso.dll from the Office CD to said location.

However - in most of these cases - I have found reinstalling the Office
Suite is the only fix that takes. Commonly - if that one file is a
problem - so are hundreds of others...

(Did you do some sort of restore?)

Thanks! Replacing the mso.dll looks like it did the trick. I had already
done a system restore, but may not have go back far enough.

Thanks again for the help.
