"Cannot Open Volumn for Direct Access" when Chkdsk runs

Hi,
When "Check Disk" runs at Startup, an error message
always shows up "Cannot Open Volumn for Direct Access."
I checked the Microsoft knowledge base article (823439)
issued on 8/14/2003, it says Microsoft is still
researching this problem.

Although this article seems a little out-of-date, does
anyone know how to solve the problem?

Thanks

Cannot Open Volume for Direct Access error message is due to Symantec
Antivirus Corporate v9.

Hi Kelly,
Thanks for quick response.
I'm using Norton AntiVirus 2004, and is it also the
reason? How can I solve the problem without uninstalling
Norton?

Thanks

<LOL> Ok, John T., what else was on your mind at the time? I am brunette,
have brown eyes, far from being male but who is he? Perhaps he is the
physic Chris, son of Sylvia Brown?)

Dang, sure did. Must be a guy thing and nope, don't have much time to watch
tv. And when I do, it is Court TV. So, double odds for me?(

BTW, back in my tv days, I caught Sylvia every chance I had. She is pretty
good.)
