Cannot open two browsers at same time

Until today I could have as many browser windows open at one time as I liked,
now this is impossible.

Everytime I open one browser window and then click the IE icon the new
window replaces my first window . End result...only one window and any
information from the first browser is lost.

Feels like I switched off a setting or something but I can't see anything
out of the ordinary...

Any ideas?

Start Internet Explorer -> Tools -> Internet Options: in the Advanced tab,
uncheck the option "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts."
See: http://support.microsoft.com/?id=241911
"Description of the Reuse Windows for Launching Shortcuts Setting in
Internet Explorer 5.01".

Hope this helps

Go to Tools | Internet Options | Advanced.
Uncheck "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts".

Also, if you have Yahoo Companion, Google toolbar, MSN toolbar, a firewall,
Earthlink (or another pop-up blocker) My IE2 (a shell for IE) etc.
Yahoo Companion is a very common cause.

You'll have to turn off the feature that's blocking new windows or, perhaps,
uninstall the program (especially uninstall Yahoo Companion).

With some programs of this type, using Ctrl+click or Shift+click will allow
a new window.

If you're *sure* that another program isn't causing this, these links may
help.

Thanks Frank & Vincenzo, useful tips, Frank your hints led me to check out
the add ons to IE, I'd just installed a new verison of Yahoo Messenger, I
disabled the Messenger Add on and relaunched IE, all is fine and I can now
have two browser sessions open simultaneously...

Thanks again...
Tim
