Cannot open IE6 at all

S

Sunny

This just happened yesterday. Everytime I try to open
IE6, an error report pops up and gives me the option to
send or don't send the error. No matter which one I
choose, the browser will not start afterwards. If I click
on debug, then an application error window pops up. I
have ran Ad-Aware 6 and Norton Anti-virus, but no
success. I tried uninstalling IE6 using the control
panel, but everytime I click on Change/Remove the only
option I can choose is to repair IE6 (the other options
are grayed out). This repair did not fix anything.
Nothing seems to work. HELP!!!

I have the same problem except that I dont get an error
report. I get the hourglass like something is happening
but the browser never opens. Just re-installed Windows 98
but the problem remains.

Turn off Debugging ...
Most of the time this is just errors on the web site ..... not your end.
However some ad-blocking apps will cause this (script error) when the ad or
banner fails to display.

Internet Options | Advanced
Select: "Disable script debugging"
Uncheck: "Display a notification about every script error", click Apply\Ok

Verify these Registry entries exist and are correct:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]
"Disable Script Debugger"="yes"
"Error Dlg Details Pane Open"="yes"
"Error Dlg Displayed On Every Error"="no"
"NoJITSetup"=dword:00000000
"NoWebJITSetup"=dword:00000001

Note: always Export before editing .....
[or]
Download the latest version of Windows Script 5.6 for XP\2K
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...43-7e4b-4622-86eb-95a22b832caa&DisplayLang=en

Try installing that and see if it helps with your problem.
