Hi Im new to vista windows mail, I have sent a wps doc to several people who
have all replied they cannot open it, could anyone let me know what im doing
wrong or how to rectify this? One recipient has suggested sending in a
different format, is this possible and how do I do it? Any help would be
greatly appreciated
Many Thanks

This really has nothing to do with Windows or Windows mail.

A wps format document was created by a particular program. Your recipients
would need a copy of that program running on their machines to open it. It
sounds like it may be a Word Perfect document. If so, Word Perfect, and many
other programs offer an option to Save As and then pick quite a number of
different formats to save your document in. You will have to come to an
agreement with your recipients as to what format they can use, and what
formats your can create before sending the document. The Mail program
couldn't care less what format it's in.

Good luck

I believe the .wps extension belongs to MS Works word processor.
MS Word should be able to open it.

It is a ms word processer file, many thanks for the help I have resent it and
hopefully they will be able to open it ok. If they canot (its a cv to
seferal agencies) is there a standard format I can save ot to so it will open
at the other end?

IMHO, unless you want the recipient to be able to make changes to the
document, you should send a document in PDF format.
This is a fairly universal viewing format, and retains all of the
formatting.

And you don't need Adobe to create it. I use the free CutePDF Writer,
which installs as a printer. You just "print" to it, and it creates a pdf
file. http://www.cutepdf.com/
