Try saving the attachments first and then see if you can open them.

Make sure images and attachments are enabled:
Tools, Safety Options, Security, uncheck "Block images..." and also
uncheck "Do not allow attachments..."

Also, go to Tools, Options, Read, and uncheck "Read all
messages in plain text".

If no improvement, what happens when you save the attachment and
then open that file outside of Windows Mail?

I have unchecked all the above, but no improvenment.

That is the strange part I cannot chose the option save attachments its gray.
but in the inbox it says i have an attachment, and the size of the mails are
such tha you would expect an attachment or a lot of pictures enclosed.

I tried to send the email to another adres and opened it on another computer,

Perhaps your antivirus is preventing you from saving the attachment.
Which antivirus are you running? Some of them are not fully compatible
with Windows Mail.

Hi gary,

The problem wasn't my antivirus (avg) but my ISP probably blocked the e-mails.
I solved this by upgrading to windows live mail and asked the sender to send
the jpg to my hotmail adres.

Thanks for your help.
