Cannot Log on to any User Accounts

Hello,

I am running XP Home edition on a laptop. I currently have 2 user
accounts that I recently the other day added passwords too. These
accounts never had passwords before. Now, I cannot log in to either of
the accounts. The day that I added the passwords, I believe the OS
went into a hibernation mode and I believe the passwords never took
effect. I have never logged in to either user accounts with the new
passwords. Now I cannot gain access at all. I downloaded this
software to try to break the passwords, but there are no directions on
how to use the software. I have tried booting off of the operating
system cd, and I have tried to start up in safe mode, but everytime XP
starts up and ends with trying to log into to the 2 user accounts
screen. I do not know how to load this software. I even tried to boot
from the xp cd as well as the password software and I could not copy it
acrossed...Can somone provide me with some directions on this process?
Thanks

Did you try to boot into safe mode and login to the built in
Administrator's account? That should show up on the Welcome Screen.
Normally that password is blank unless it's one of those you added. If
it's blank it should boot up, then change the passwords to the other
accounts.

You haven't mentioned the name of the software you tried.
