Cannot load win xp prof Sorry for the inconvenience, but Windows was unable to l

When i started my pc this morning and start it up, and it
shows me a screen that reads:
"Sorry for the inconvenience, but Windows was unable to
load; this may be caused by a software/hardware change
etc..."

"Click here for Safe Mode, etc..."
"Click here to run Windows from last good settings
etc..."
"Click here to run windows normally etc..."

So, I try EACH method, many many times, and Windows still
wouldn't load... not even under safe mode!

I have no idea why this has happened, as it worked
PERFECTLY the day previously...

so I was wondering how I can fix this...

I have my Windows XP cd, and I loaded it in the CD-ROM,
and I nothing happened, just the same Black&White error
screen... I think i need to tell my pc to look at the
cdrom drive when it starts up ? so i can then choose an
option on the windows xp prof cd that fixes and repairs ?
I DONT want to loose whats on my hd etc so i think i need
to change something when it boots up to look at the cdrom
drive, if so how do i do this please ?

thanks Peter

Do you have a virus or other MAlware?
Press F8 right before XP boots to enable the real
options menu and choose safe mode command prompt.
Run the system restore tool and restore to a time prior
to this problem.

Hello Dave thanks for the reply but NO i cannot do this,
pls re-read my initial post, even if i do click on any of
"Click here for Safe Mode, etc..."
"Click here to run Windows from last good settings
etc..."
"Click here to run windows normally etc..."
So, I try EACH method, many many times, and Windows still
wouldn't load... not even under safe mode! Can you or
anyone else advise ?
It seems my only option is to try and reboot and load the
winxp prof cd in the cdrom drive but i dont know how to
tell it to boot up and read the cdrom drive ?

you will have to get to your bios screen at boot, then
change the boot order to cd as the first option.
each computer is different as to getting into the bios
but try pressing the delete key at boot.
