cannot load from bin\hotspot\jvm.dll

When I click on Tweaks in Kellys Korner I get the message "Java runtime
environment cannot be loaded from <\bin\hotspot\jvm.dll>." I found jvm.dll
in the bin\client folder. I can not find a "hotspot" folder.

Several months ago, I removed msvm using the Add or Remove programs screen
and installed SunJava 1.4.2_04_b05. Since then, I have read that removing
msvm is more involved. However, I have not made those additional changes
because I have run test using sites listed here and Java seemed to run OK
until this error. How do I fix this error?

And your Windows version is...?

In another newsgroup, an MSFT support tech advised another user with this
problem: "Start by upgrading to the latest MDAC (www.microsoft.com/data) and
see if that helps." (http://snipurl.com/6wxj)

Also see MVP Jim Byrd's reply in this archived thread:

You might also seek Sun's java's support, since you're using it:

I sent an email to Kelly and read her answer. Then I did my fourth
bin\hotspot\jvm.dll google search and finally understood the answer in the
Java Technology Forums. The first hit of course.

I opened the Java plug-in control panel/advanced and changed the runtime
environment from Plug-in Default to JRE1.4.2_04. Now it works. The OS is
winxp.

Thanks, David
