I recently tried to install WMP 10, and got a blue screen. Now when i
try to run WMP, i get this message:
"The file wmplayer.exe has a version number of 10.0.0.3646 where
9.0.0.3250 was expected. Windows Media Player is not installed
properly and must be reinstalled."
There is no windows media player listed among the installed programs,
so I cannot uninstall the old version. When I try to delete the files
under the wmp folder, they re-appear! I deleted the files in safe
mode, including the folder itself, but the folder keeps coming back.
and still, when I try to install version 10 I get a blue screen.
I assume that I will have to remove some garbage from the registry, but
which ones? Help!
