Cannot install iTunes 6.0.4.2...error message

After downloading iTunes, installation stalls and shows this message: "C:\...
\zh_TW.lproj\iTunesHelperLocalized.dll" "Internal Error 2330. 23,"and then an
error message is displayed: "Error: 63443, C:\Program
Files\iTunes\iTunesHelper.Resources\zh_TW.lproj". When I click "OK" another
error message is displayed: "Error:-1603 Fatal Error During
Installation...Consult Windows Installer Help (Msi.chm) or MSDN for more
information.

I did a clean uninstall via Add/Remove and am still not able to install
iTunes. Keeps telling me, also, that it is "missing some files" and to
reinstall iTunes.

I'm tearing my hair out. Can someone please help me?

Thank you in advance for your infinite wisdom!!

Sorry to burst your bubble, but iTunes is a piece-of-sh*t. Really makes one
wonder how good Apple's OSX is when iTunes is such crapware.

This program (w/QuickTime) was previously on my computer and worked great.
It wasn't until I installed Windows Live Beta that everything went to heck.
I've uninstalled the Windows Live Beta through Add/Remove.

It installs up until it gets to the "C:\....zh_TW.lproj..."'' when it stops
and I get the error message.

I've followed the instructions on the links that Carey and Ronnie supplied
(thank you) but the install stops at the point indicated above.

I also get a message, when deleting my temp folder that "3424" cannot be
deleted and to see the Administrator. My husband and I both have computers
and are on a Lan, but I am the Administrator. (scarey, right?)

So if someone could please tell me if I'm missing something or if there is a
fix for this, I would greatly appreciate it.

Your assistance is most greatly appreciated.

Your best strategy at this point would be to contact the Apple/ITunes
support. All of the fixes you have already tried pretty much covers all of
the Windows related issues.

The unknown quantity here is the Live Beta. Beta programs, by their very
nature, can cause unexpected and odd problems.

Thank you, Ronnie. I tried Apple Support and the page comes up blank. I'll
look for other venues with which to reach them.

Thank you so much for your help.

Can't quite agree with you there. iTunes was preinstalled on my new HP
machine and runs quite well. It seems to take up much less in resources
than Media Player. I prefer WinAmp to both of these programs, though.
