Cannot Get Proper Decompressor

Steve

I'm running Windows 98, 266mhz AMD, 320mb RAM, and Media
Player 6.4
Every time I try to play an AVI file, it starts to open
and then tries to look for activex.microsoft.com, and then
looks for codecs.microsoft.com. I figured, OK I just need
a certain codec for this file. But then I come up to this
error message:
"Unable to download an appropriate decompressor.
(Error=80040200)

Cannot play back the video stream: no suitable
decompressor could be found. (Error=80040255)"

I have the divx codec and many other codecs. What do I
need to make this work?

You need the right codec, duh.
