I have two desktops and a laptop all running windows XP. The laptop is new
replacing one that died. Prior to its death, I was able to network all three
sucessfully and share files and printers. Now I have been unsuccessful in
bringing the new Lenovo laptop (R51e) running XP Pro (the old laptop was also
running pro) into the network. The two desktops are connected via Ethernet
cable to a Microsoft Wireless router. The laptop is connected either
wirelessly or via Ethernet to the router.
The two desktops can 'see' the laptop and each other when I "View Workgroup
Computers" But neither can access the laptop, nor can the laptop access them,
nor see them when I "View Workgroup Computers." It matters not whether laptop
connects wireline or wireless to the router. I'm able to get to the Internet
from all 3 PCs. I'm able to access files between desktops.
Any help appreciated...I've been at this for hours! It must be something
simple I'm overlooking.
